Switching to another console linux

Posted by admin in Linux, Tips, no level

GNU / Linux systems have multiple consoles and switch between the keyboard allows them whether it works in graphic mode or in text mode.

Although the procedure is different depending on the case in question. In text mode to change the linux console has to hold down Alt and then the function key corresponding to the console to which you want to access.

For example if you want to access the console must first press and hold down the Alt key, and then there is a push on the button called "F1" key combination that allows you to access the console first, if you will access the second one would have to press the combination Alt + F2, and so on with the first six text consoles.

I say the first six but can be more, since most Linux systems are configured by default to six consoles linux text in a more graphic way, therefore access to text consoles would press the key combination Alt and then the function key that can go from F1 to F6, whereas if you press F7 will have access to the Linux console in graphical mode.

On some linux systems you can not change the console text to more than 6 + 1 graph, or it is not recommended because doing so does not acknowledge, however if the keyboard has 12 function keys and the system installed linux is not very old could increase the number of terminals 12, 11 is the final text that would be more graphic.

It should be borne in mind that consoles have a lot of text may not be so advisable, because even if allowed to run different programs on different consoles and even into the Linux system with different user names according to the console. A novice user makes little use of these options.

It should be borne in mind that when it changed to a graphical console, if you want to switch to another console, you can no longer use the same key combination as in graphic mode does not recognize these.

So to switch between consoles on the original console in graphical mode has been pressing the key combination Ctrl + Alt + function key, ie it must also press the Control key.

Another more days! Often I find new users in the "art of managing a computer", and many of them have Internet connection. While know how to start surfing, have serious doubts when it comes to configuring your email, even reading the manual installation of your ADSL provider, which has offered a free email account. Well this little tutorial aims to fill this gap by explaining how to configure a POP mail account in Microsoft Outlook Express program, which most users have installed on your computer. Then touch the settings in other programs, "not only the lives of Microsoft software."

Task Bar (Move)

The Windows taskbar is the bar is located where the start button on the left side of it, and the clock on the right side. Usually located at the bottom of the screen because the default setup is configured as is.

But often, for any reason, such as changing the subject of windows, for any program that is easier to use if the taskbar is not annoying, or simply because we like to change the site gives us the element that wins. Interest may change this bar and place it in any other position.

Also by default the task bar is set to be blocked and therefore can not vary or size, or position. So the steps to change the position or size would be:

1. Step: First it should be noted that we can change the position or size of the taskbar, for doing this The only thing that has to do is place your mouse over the taskbar, and make a click with the right mouse button. In performing this action is presented in the context menu screen for the taskbar. This is a menu option called Lock the Taskbar, which should appear in your left side with a signal, this signal indicates that the option is enabled, therefore it has to make a click on this option to disable the Lock the taskbar.

2. Step Two: Once the lock off if we want to change the size for the height of the taskbar, is to place your mouse over the edge of the bar, where we're at the edge when the mouse pointer take the form of a double arrow tip pointing up and down. Once the pointer is located click the left mouse button and hold it while dragging the mouse. By doing this you can see how changing the size of the bar when the size you want to simply release the mouse button.

3. Step: If you want to change the position or location of the taskbar, the action has done is put the mouse pointer on a portion of the taskbar where there is nothing, ie on same task bar, not on a button to an application or something like that. Once located the mouse pointer in this position, do a click with the left mouse button and hold down the button while dragging the taskbar to the left, right or top of the screen that appears to look at the position the bar where we want to make a rectangular frame made up of small dots, when you see this mark in the correct position just release the mouse button and the taskbar is moved to that position. Depending on the configuration and graphics windows is possible that rather than a brand itself appears taskbar completely drawn.

4th. Step Two: Once placed in the taskbar with its position and the size you want, would have to fix it, for it has simply re-click on the option discussed in Step 1 Lock the Taskbar.
