Change from one console to another linux
GNU / Linux systems have several consoles and the keyboard allows them to alternate between whether you work in graphic mode and text mode.
Although the procedure is different depending on the case in question. In text mode to switch from linux console has to hold down Alt and then the function key for the console to which you want.
For example, if you want to be the first console has been pressing and hold down the Alt key, and then makes a clicking on the button called "F1", this key combination allows access to the first console, if you will access to the second is the combination would have to press Alt + F2, and so on with the first six consoles text.
I say the first six though they may be more, because most systems are configured by default linux up to six more consoles linux text in a graphic way, for both access to text consoles would be down the ALT and Then the function key that could go from F1 to F6, while if you press F7 would have access to the linux console in graphic mode.
In some older systems linux can not be changed consoles text to more than 6 + 1 graphic, or is not advisable to do so because it did not recognize, anyway if the keyboard has 12 function keys and the system installed linux is not very old you could increase the number of terminals to 12, ie 11 of the final text that would be more graphic.
It should be borne in mind that many consoles have text might not be as desirable, because although they allow to execute different programs on different consoles and even enter the Linux system with different user names according to the console. A new user makes little use of these options.
It should be borne in mind that when it was changed to a graphical console, if we want to switch to another console, you can not use the same combination of keys, and so graphic that these are not recognized.
So to switch between consoles on the original console in graphic mode has been pressing the key combination Ctrl + Alt + function key, meaning it must also press the Control key.
