Another more days! Often I find new users in the "art of managing a computer", and many of them have Internet connection. While know how to start surfing, have serious doubts when it comes to configuring your email, even reading the manual installation of your ADSL provider, which has offered a free email account. Well this little tutorial aims to fill this gap by explaining how to configure a POP mail account in Microsoft Outlook Express program, which most users have installed on your computer. Then touch the settings in other programs, "not only the lives of Microsoft software."

Okay, so the tutorial does not lead to error, we assume that I have hired an adsl connection with a supplier and the latter has offered me two free email accounts using POP. According to my data provider of my accounts would be:

Account: nacho@miproveedor.com
Outgoing server (SMTP): smtp.miproveedor.com
Incoming server (POP): pop.miproveedor.com
User post: nacho@miproveedor.com
Password: melapidovampiro

Well, once at the disposal of these data, we can configure our mail account, the steps would be.

1o. Step

Implementation of the program Outlook Express

Firstly, it has to run the email program, which in this case we will use is the Microsoft of the company, known as Outlook Express, which is a simple email program and without many complications. To run it click on the Windows Start button and the menu that appears, place your mouse over the option called All Programs, by placing this option on the menu is presented which contains the list of programs and we make a click on a program called Outlook Express. Andalusia implements the program, if not previously configured it is possible to present a configuration wizard for the mail account, as shown in the picture below:

It is possible that this is not the wizard, do not worry for now, if you will not be introducing the setup wizard will be presented the main program screen, which looks like the following image:

2. Step

Use the wizard to configure the email account

Once implemented the program, we create our own mailing. To do this observe that in the menu bar of the program, there is a menu called tools, we make a click on the menu to open it and then we do another click on the option called ... Accounts, clicking on this option presents the following dialog screen:

As you can see there are a number of tabs in the dialog box, including one called Mail, which when pressed shows the list of mail accounts that already have configured. Note that there is also a button on the top right of the box labeled Add ..., then we have to make a click on it. Clicking on this button displays a menu in which there are three options, the first is that our interest is the Mail ..., and so do click on it. Clicking on this option gives the account setup wizard mentioned above, which looks like:

Well at this first stage of the wizard asks us our names, this name will be displayed on messages that are going to send, well in my case I would reply Nacho (I am fairly informal: O)), so you must type your full name or you want to display when sending your messages, once the name is typed by pressing the button at the bottom called Next>, which continue through the wizard and submit the following screen:

This section of the wizard we have to type the email address we have, ie teclearíamos nacho@miproveedor.com as our example, typing the same button activates the Next> and that the assistant to push forward a new screen as shown in the picture below:

This screen was first asked to enter the name of the incoming mail server, which in our example would pop.miproveedor.com once typed this, it was typing in the box below the outgoing mail server in our smtp.miproveedor.com serious case, once they are typed then click the Next button>, which would present the next screen of the wizard as shown below:

On this screen the first thing that is required is the account name or user of the account, in our case the account name is nacho@miproveedor.com, which coincides exactly with the name of mail account, but this need not If so, depends on the service provider, again I remind you to check their data to avoid problems in the configuration. Once typed the account name has to type in the box below the password for that account, which in our case melapidovampiro, your provider will check also indicates that the password box, if so mark if Otherwise leave as-is. Remember password box is enabled, but if you use your computer in a place other than your home, it would be desirable to remove the check mark so that when you log into your account you will be prompted for a password, and avoid, where possible, someone can download your mail, if you are configuring the account in your home, leave it checked, so you dont have to worry about typing each time you log in to read email. Once the two values as we press the Next button>, which would present the following screen:

Well you only have to click the Finish button, which will return to the accounts and the latter simply press the Close button to finish setting up our account, and in theory and could send and receive email. You must be aware that some providers require to set some additional parameters, so depending on the provider have to do some assume that this step will give you, if it does not leave us a comment to see how to do this in the most general possible to serve all.
